| Three MCR&PC seats to be filled in 2010 |

Shakopee, Minn., January 25, 2010 - The Minnesota Corn Research & Promotion Council (MCR&PC) has three seats up for election this year. The council is made up of 11 corn producers elected from the various state crop reporting districts. Farmer-leaders who are elected are charged with directing the investment of the state’s corn check-off. They serve a three-year term. Districts voting this year include: DISTRICT III, V and VI: Aitkin, Anoka, Benton, Carlton, Carver, Chisago, Crow Wing, Hennepin, Isanti, Kanabec, Kandiyohi, Lake, McLeod, Meeker, Mille Lacs, Morrison, Pine, Ramsey, Renville, Scott, Sherburne, Sibley, St. Louis, Stearns, Todd, Wadena, Washington and Wright Counties. DISTRICT VII: Cottonwood, Jackson, Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Nobles, Pipestone, Redwood and Rock Counties. DISTRICT VIII: Blue Earth, Brown, Faribault, Freeborn, Le Sueur, Martin, Nicollet, Rice, Steele, Waseca and Watonwan Counties. Producers will automatically be mailed a ballot if they voted in last year’s election. Those who have not voted in the past can request a ballot from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) at http://www.mda.state.mn.us/forms/electionballots.aspx. Producers can also contact the Minnesota Corn Growers Association (MCGA) office at 952-233-0333. Ballot request forms need to be returned to the MDA or MCGA offices by February 8. Those producers who are interested in running for the Council must request an application from MCGA and return it to the association by February 8.
